An Efficient Chorin–Temam Projection Proper Orthogonal Decomposition Based Reduced-Order Model for Nonstationary Stokes Equations

In this paper, we propose an efficient proper orthogonal decomposition based reduced-order model(POD-ROM) for nonstationary Stokes equations, which combines the classical projection method with POD technique. This new scheme mainly owns two advantages: first one is low computational costs since decouples velocity variable and pressure variable, technique further improves efficiency; second advantage consists of circumventing verification LBB/inf-sup condition mixed spaces help stabilized Petrov-Galerkin(PSPG)-type method, where stabilization term inherent allows use non inf-sup stable elements without adding extra terms. We obtain convergence PSPG-type finite element scheme, then analyze proposed POD-ROM's stability convergence. Numerical experiments validate out theoretical results.
